History
Founded in 2002 by Manoj and Shubhada Saxena, the Saxena Family Foundation is a philanthropic organization committed to positively impacting the lives of women while establishing a legacy of giving in their own family. The foundation has particular focus on initiatives that enable equality and empower the girl child and young women ensuring that women have equal rights later in life.
Despite many international agreements affirming women's rights women are still disadvantaged than men. They are more likely to be poor and illiterate than men and usually have less access to medical care, employment, entrepreneurial opportunities, credit, and training. Women are far more likely to be victims of domestic violence as well. Our foundation focuses on empowerment programs to include Economic empowerment, Educational empowerment, and Political empowerment of women through literacy programs, job and life skills training.
We partner with a wide range of outside individuals and organizations through our programs. Some of the Saxena Family Foundation Programs and initiatives include:
- World Vision Programs
- Global Giving Programs
- ASSET India Foundation
- American Youthworks
- Austin charities and schools
